About NAMI
Founded in 1979, NAMI (NAMI.org) has become the nation’s voice on mental illness, with affiliates in every state and in over 1,100 local communities across the country who join together to meet the NAMI mission through education, support, advocacy, and research.
NAMI Western Riverside County provides a way for families and friends to assist each other and provide emotional support in times of crisis as well as during dialing coping with a mental illness diagnosis. NAMI provides positive support groups and the latest available information to those affected by disorders of the brain such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, affective disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

On December 19, 2023, we lost a beloved volunteer, member, and friend. Diana Kraft was a board member and the second vice president of the NAMI Western Riverside County affiliate for over a decade. Diana served as the point of contact for helping individuals and families needing mental health assistance. Diana responded to thousands of calls during her time with us. She attentively listened and provided the much-needed mental health support and resources to every call she received. There were countless positive comments and reports about her kindness and generosity to the community....
